An energy management hub for customer sites
Rising energy costs, dwindling resources and the need to offset environmental impacts have made the drive to optimise overall energy performance one of the most important economic, environmental and social issues of our time. In 2013, to meet the needs of customers, unlock additional energy savings and move seamlessly into the digital age, Dalkia set up the Dalkia Energy Savings Center (DESC), the first energy management hub of its kind in France. It now has seven regional branches (Lille, Nancy, Paris, Tours, Toulouse, Marseille and Lyon), in each of Dalkia's established regions.
State-of-the-art technology and specialist support
The DESC can compare the energy performance of buildings, target shortcomings and identify scope for improvement in each building. Smart building systems are used in conjunction with data analysis and action plans to ensure long-term energy savings.
The DESC brings our top energy savings specialists under one roof. Staff provide real-time analysis of building information using a Dalkia-designed data processing system to improve energy management in each building. The DESC is the first facility of its kind in France to deliver energy savings on an industrial scale. These energy savings represent Negawatt-hours?, a term used to refer to kilowatt-hours not used, otherwise known as "avoided energy".
Ambitious energy performance targets
In the past, we achieved energy savings of 20%. The DESC has allowed us to increase that figure to 40% for non-equipped buildings. Our experts use bespoke systems to provide a detailed scan of facilities, determine the building's energy footprint and target ways of reducing consumption.
